KADA POROMAN Microfinance Limited (KPML) is a financial institution incorporated under the Companies Act 1997 and licensed under the Banks and Financial Institutions Act 2000 by the Central Bank of Papua New Guinea to conduct banking business. KPML is responsible for offering banking and financial services products to mainly grassroots customers, to assist them create wealth and achieve an improved standard of living. KPML is currently seeking a suitable and qualified individual to fill the following position:
Key Responsibilities (is not limited to):
Timely execution of Board Policies and Directives for the achievement of the Financial Institution’s goals and objectives.
– In consultation with the CEO, direct the internal auditing function of KPML to ensure that sound internal control systems, risk management systems and governance processes are established for sound management of the financial and operational activities (including donor funded projects) of KPML.
– Assess the various risk proven to the bank and advise the management proper risk management measure to mitigate / minimize the risk
– Provide support and guidance to the management in all matters concerning financial, operational and compliance issues including cost control and efficiency in KPML activities.
– Provide support to management to ensure that statutory financial and operational information are accurate and reliable for reporting purposes and KPML operations are effectively and efficiently operating to accomplish its goals and objectives.
– Ensure the compliance related to submission of return to Bank of PNG and other statutory bodies and complying the implementation of guidelines of Bank of PNG and Statutory Bodies.
Qualifications/Experience:
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:
– Tertiary qualification from a recognized University in finance or accounting
– Currently a CPA PNG registered member/ Equaling qualification
– At least 5 years’ work experience in financial management, with related experience as a manager;
– Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing;
– High integrity and accountability in all aspects of financial management;
– Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills are essential
– Good presentation and report writing skills
– Good interpersonal and organizational skills
– Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
– Ability to keep up to date with technological advances.
Must be able to respond to enquiries or complaints from customers, answer queries and provide information to customers.
